Meet: Eit from Min Kone village, Myanmar

Eit was born with cleft lip and has had problems with eating and speaking her whole life. Her parents passed away when she was 15 and she had to drop out of school after third grade, and now works in a tea plantation. She lives with her aunt and cousin, and they have always had hope. Finally, her friend told her about the Pyin Oo Lwin mission and she traveled two days by bus and motorbike together with her aunt and cousin to get to the hospital. Eit got her cleft lip surgery when she was 25 years old.

Eit came to the post-operative checkup a few weeks later, and she is doing great! She says she is happy with her new look, and has had no complication following the surgery.
