Kids Action for Kids, Rak Ban Kerd Foundation, and OST funded an ongoing medical surgery mission for 100 children at Maharat Nakhon Ratchasimi Hospital in Korat, Thailand which started in July 2024.
This ongoing mission was special for KAFK as an organization. The Maharat Nakhon Ratchasimi Hospital in Korat is one that our team has been to three times already for previous missions as we helped fund medical missions at this hospital in 2014, 2018, and 2020.
This mission also marks our 15th anniversary as a partner of Operation Smile Thailand (OST) and as a sponsor of cleft- lip and palate surgeries in Thailand and Myanmar. This is our 27th medical mission together with OST since we started our work in 2009.
Because many of our Board members and volunteers don’t live in Thailand right now, this mission was kicked off with an online video conference, where we met up with the Maharat Nakhon Ratchasima Hospital Team led by the head surgeon, Doctor Pinai Nirunrungrueng and OST representatives.
It was very interesting to hear news about the cleft patients’ journey and treatment process in Nakhon Ratchasima, and we also used the opportunity to wish them all the best with the surgeries.
Because we were not physically present at this mission, we have posted photos from our video conference and some photos from our previous three missions at the same hospital. Please see the photos in the gallery below.
We want to give a huge amount of gratitude to our partners and our donors who have made this possible. Thank you all for your hard work and trust in us! Together with our partners, we have given over 2,250 people a new chance at life over the last 15 years.
