Haakon Brekke has spent most of his life in Thailand, graduating from the International School Bangkok (ISB) in 2011, going on to Colgate University in New York where he studied Economics and Chinese, graduating in 2015. Apart from Kids Action for Kids, Haakon has spent a lot of time doing competitive swimming, captaining his high school and college teams. After college, Haakon worked in e-commerce startup Zalora in KL, Jakarta, and Singapore, and then worked at Boston Consulting Group based in Bangkok for several years. He is now completing his MBA at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
When asked why he has been part of Kids Action for Kids since founding until now, he will say it is a combination of dutiful giving back to a country that has been so welcoming to him, and a hope of spreading the spirit of social entrepreneurship.
